Solar Panels We Use

Whether your requirement is to produce electricity or heat, we can supply a package that best suit you as well as the conditions in the UK, making the most of what we have.

While solar photovoltaic and solar thermal panels may look quite similar, both usually found sitting on roofs in a south facing position, they are in fact quite different from each other.

Solar PV

Photovoltaic panels are made up of semiconducting material covered by a layer of glass. When the sun shines, the semiconductors produce an electric field which can be conducted away as direct current electricity. In most cases, panels are normally found situated on south facing roofs in large quantities in order to generate higher levels of electricity.

Solar Thermal

Excavated thermal panels are made up of glass tubes that collect the suns energy in order to transfer the heat from the tubes to a fluid that runs through them, normally antifreeze. Flat plate collectors work in much the same way by collecting the suns energy, in this case over a plate which in turn is transferred to a fluid that passes through.

We always try to use the most up to date solar equipment, with solar photovoltaic and thermal collection panels being supplied by leading manufacturers such as Dimplex, Baxi and Sharp. Not only does this give you the consumer piece of mind of leading brands, but also knowledge that you have some of the latest equipment designed to get the most from the technology.
